A Blanc de Chine porcelain Guanyin seated on a rock. Her right hand rests on her knee. The end of her left leg is not visible, though her left leg appears crossed. The hand is particularly long and the fingers more finely modelled compared with similar known examples. The figure is covered in a cream‑ivory glaze. Fujian Province, Dehua.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION :
This Guanyin is of major quality: her right hand is exceptionally well modelled, the drapery is particularly accomplished, and her expression is especially serene.
