• Wanli / Tianqi Period (1573-1627)

• D : 16,1cm / 16cm

• Inv. GD182

A pair of porcelain saucers with blue and white decoration of a deer, a monkey and a bird in flight near a pine tree.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION :

Although this decoration exist under the Wanli and Tianqi periods, particularly for the Japanese export (Ko-Sometsuke), these small dishes could possibly be from the Jiajing period, as the dots in the blue decoration are more indicative of the painting style of the period. They are more commonly seen without this unusual border.
