ADDITIONAL INFORMATION :

This early 18th-century Chinese teapot shows significant similarities to Japanese teapots of the late 17th century, which slightly pre-date this model. There is no doubt that this form is inspired by Japanese examples. In particular, the way the decoration is arranged on the lid strongly associates it with high-handled teapots also from the early Edo period (1603–1868).
